2007 Inaugural Empowering Women Luncheon: Dr. Mae Jamison

In 1992, Dr. Mae Jemison served as a mission specialist aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavor and became the first woman of color to travel to space. Since then, Dr. Jemison has spent her life advocating for science education and the involvement of BIPOC women in STEM. She continues to blaze trails for the future through her actions and empowerment of others, and we were honored to have her join us as the inaugural Luncheon keynote speaker in 2007.
