YWCA of Rochester and Monroe County is now a support service partner to Breaking Ground’s Eastman Commons housing complex.

Located at 1630 Dewey Avenue in Rochester, Eastman Commons has been transformed from a deteriorating, vacant and contaminated manufacturing building into a anew affordable residential housing complex.  The project provides 80 one-bedroom rental units where residents hold standard lease agreements.  All resident incomes are below 60% of the area median income.

The project houses a unique mix of tenant in the Rochester area.  Low income, single adults comprise 49% of the units and 51% are referred form local shelters for the homeless.

YWCA is a proud partner to Breaking Ground in providing individually tailored care management services and links to health, mental health, education, employment and recreational resources.
