Phyllis McElligott is the new Director of Housing at the YWCA of Rochester & Monroe County.
As a key member of the leadership team, she is responsible for developing strategic relationships at the Federal and State levels to influence future funding opportunities and sustain program revenue for the YWCA’s housing programs.
Phyllis is also tasked with being known in the community for being a key conduit for ideas and programs from the Federal and State level to the local organizations. Phyllis will also forecast trends and shifts in the service industry and help secure funding to support the YWCA.
Phyllis will provide leadership, direction and administrative oversight to the operations of the YWCA housing services division as well as serve as the chief privacy officer for the agency, including responsibility for HIPAA compliance.
Phyllis has more than 27 years of human services experience with management and oversight of programs for services for people with HIV/AIDS. She also has a long history of working with individuals diagnosed with substance abuse and mental health challenges. Prior to her role at the YWCA, Phyllis was the Director of Supportive Services at Catholic Charities Community Services.
Phyllis graduated in 2014 from Medaille College with a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership.
