    STORIES OF HOPE:

    My Son is Happy Here

Jovanna and Jeremiah arrived at the YWCA's Emergency Housing program just after New Years Day. Jovanna, 18, first became homeless when she found out she was pregnant.  At the YWCA, she met others who could relate to what she was going through.  Her son made friends as well. "He got so much attention from residents and staff alike." she says.

To help her look for an apartment, Jovanna could leave Jeremiah in the YWCA’s Drop-In Child Care.  Weeks later, she received the keys to her first apartment. With a safe place to raise her son, Jovanna, who just graduated high school, plans to turn her attention to college.
