I needed to change my life for the sake of my child. I want him to realize that there are many opportunities available in life. Courage is facing any obstacle to accomplish your goals.

Programs and services that make it all possible...
The YWCA of Rochester and Monroe County has been a beacon of help and hope for local women and families since 1883. Today, our programs focus on providing support for pregnant and parenting teens and their babies, and on offering a continuum of housing for women in need of all ages and family situations.
Housing Program
Through our Housing Services, the YWCA offers a continuum of residential programs for low-income single women and women with children who need a safe and secure home from which to build their strength and continue their progress. The YWCA provides emergency housing for women in crisis; supportive housing for women with special needs, including chemical dependency; transitional housing for women beginning to find their way; and permanent, affordable housing for women working to maintain a healthy and productive life for themselves and their children. Counseling and education in life skills, parenting, and job readiness support our residents each step of the way on their journey to success.
Young Parents Support Services
The YWCA’s Young Parents Support Services Program helps teenage mothers navigate the challenges of young adulthood and early parenting. Through counseling, case management, home visits, social activities and career direction, teen mothers further their education and secure the work skills and opportunities that will lead to a successful future for themselves and their children.
