Reaching spiritual bankruptcy led me to discover that I needed to change my life. It is important to believe in yourself and to know that there is always hope.

Message from the President

Since 1883, the YWCA of Rochester & Monroe County has provided programs and services to assist women in reaching their full potential. Since that time, the YWCA has gone through many changes to address the critical needs facing women and families in our community.

For many of the women who come to the YWCA, the challenges they face can be overwhelming and far too difficult to overcome on their own. Through our many programs and services, we are working to help women and families move beyond issues such as homelessness and teenage motherhood. These are not social problems that are so easily solved. But the YWCA has a proven record of success through our Nutrition Outreach Project, our Young Parents Support Services and our Residence Programs. We are committed to doing all that we can to change lives for the better.

Through a diverse coalition of staff, volunteers, and community supporters, the YWCA is truly making a difference. Together we have helped thousands of women fulfill their dreams and given them hope for a brighter future. We are the light that leads the way, the shoulder to lean on, the friend that is always there. We are, indeed, "eliminating racism and empowering women."
